About Me

I tell everyone that I have been, and continue to be, on a journey toward Authenticity. I have survived many traumas in my life, and understand the complexities and layers of working through such challenges. I have learned the importance of self-care and being true to myself. I have learned to pay attention to my body’s needs and make the sometimes difficult decisions to maintain a balanced life.

I believe in life-long learning. I continue to read about new methods of delivering therapy, and attending workshops/training to enhance my knowledge. I know that my life’s journey has made me: a better person; a better wife; a better mother; and, a better therapist.

My career began as a Developmental Services Worker, supporting and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities. The biggest lesson learned: pay attention to the smallest of details. So much can be expressed through these ways.

I then spent 12 years in Education. Seven as an Educational Assistant; then, five as a Teacher, specifically, a Special Education Resource Teacher. These years taught me the importance of individualized care, and the necessity of advocating student strengths and their ability to learn. We are all differently-abled. How I learn is not the same for you, which is why I will work with you to identify and develop your strengths because the power to overcome adversity lies within.

Since embarking my career in Social Work, and as a counsellor/therapist in 2013, I have acquired many additional certifications to support my work. (please see Certifications page).

My hope for every client, is that you will experience your own inner strength and discover the truth that You Are Enough. I will not fix you. I will not judge you. I will not give advice. I will listen compassionately. I will offer tools/exercises/experiments to support your self-discoveries. I will hold space and allow time to work with you.

I believe it a great honour to be present with, and witness, the discoveries that take place through a trusting and safe therapeutic environment. I will journey with you through part of your life: You will be the driver, and I, the navigator.
